About the Role

Le Meridien is seeking a SrMgr-Sales I to proactively solicit and manage large group/catering opportunities with significant revenue potential. This full-time role involves managing group/catering opportunities not handled by an Event Booking Center (EBC) and actively up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue. The position requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on driving customer and guest loyalty through service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Target group/catering accounts, markets, or segments with an emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
• Partner with group/catering counterparts to effectively manage business opportunities.
• Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities for the property that are outside EBC parameters, or handle all opportunities if the property does not participate in an EBC.
• Identify, qualify, and solicit new group/catering business to achieve personal and property revenue goals, focusing on accounts with significant potential sales revenue.
• Develop effective group/catering sales plans and actions, and design, develop, and sell creative catered events.
• Maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative food and beverage options.
• Understand the overall market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, to effectively position sales efforts.
• Close the best opportunities for each property based on market conditions and individual property needs, utilizing negotiating skills and creative selling abilities.

Customer Service and Relationship Management

• Handle complex business with significant revenue potential and high customer expectations.
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows to enable future bookings.
• Develop relationships within the community to expand the customer base for group/catering sales opportunities.
• Support the brand’s Service and Relationship Strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
• Provide excellent customer service to grow the share of the account and execute brand and property customer service standards.
• Serve customers by understanding their needs, recommending appropriate features and services, and ensuring satisfaction before and during programs/events.

Collaboration and Support

• Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure coordinated, complementary, and non-duplicative sales efforts.
• Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize sales resources and administrative/support staff effectively.

Additional Duties

• Utilize intranet for resources and information.
• Conduct site inspections as required.
• Create contracts as needed.
• Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in sales, particularly within group or catering contexts. The role requires a proactive approach to sales and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
