About the Role

International Maritime Industries is seeking a Superintendent LQ & Helideck to oversee the construction and system integration of Living Quarters and Helidecks. This full-time role involves comprehensive onsite coordination across all project phases, ensuring safe and timely completion in accordance with project requirements. The Superintendent will manage material planning, allocate workers and subcontractors, and develop detailed schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee hot and cold works, including architectural outfitting, cable pulling, pipe system testing, and integration of Living Quarters/Helidecks onboard the rig.
  • Establish project build methodologies, including critical component installation, in collaboration with the Engineering and Construction teams.
  • Conduct clash studies with Project and Engineering teams to ensure safe installation.
  • Participate in the creation of project schedules alongside the Construction Manager.
  • Plan and coordinate material procurement by engaging stakeholders as per construction requirements.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment.
  • Execute and coordinate daily construction activities in line with project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide progress reporting and schedule management for construction deliverables.
  • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule, proactively addressing potential issues and notifying management of performance concerns.
  • Conduct weekly schedule coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen to outline work requirements, manpower needs, interference coordination, inspections, and work sequencing. Distribute three-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager to design and prepare procedures and standard processes for Living Quarters/Helideck activities.
  • Ensure strong knowledge of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements, communicating these to the project team.
  • Identify work priorities, focus on critical path items, analyze problems, and make decisions with a strong problem-solving approach, including readiness with 'Plan B' for unexpected issues.
  • Manage the delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITRs) for the relevant discipline by delegating effectively to foremen and chargehands, ensuring coordination with other disciplines to meet target dates.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hot and cold works, architectural outfitting, cable pulling, and pipe system testing.
  • Proven ability to establish project build methodologies and conduct clash studies.
  • Strong understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements.
