Supervisor Loss Prevention

About the Role

Edition is seeking a Supervisor Loss Prevention to oversee security operations and ensure the safety of guests and property. This full-time role involves conducting regular hotel rounds, securing rooms, and assisting guests with access. The supervisor will also lead emergency drills, conduct security inspections, and manage investigations, contributing to a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds throughout the hotel, secure rooms, and assist guests with room access.
• Lead emergency drills, daily security inspections, and physical hazard searches.
• Perform investigations, interrogations, and key control audits.
• Monitor CCTV equipment and alarm systems; authorize, monitor, and document access to secure areas.
• Assist guests and employees during emergency situations, including responding to accidents and performing first aid/CPR as needed.
• Gather information, complete reports while maintaining confidentiality, and inform only authorized personnel.
• De-escalate tensions, resolve hazardous situations, and manage complaints and service interruptions.
• Escort undesirable persons off the property and ensure compliance with alcohol control legislation.
• Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model for company policies.

Operational Duties

• Follow and enforce all chain security policies and procedures, reporting maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete required safety training and certifications, maintaining a clean and professional uniform and appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Support colleagues, treat them with dignity and respect, and contribute to team goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, using clear, appropriate, and professional language in all communications.
• Listen and respond appropriately to guest and employee concerns, remaining vigilant to detect undesirable persons.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds (* kg) without assistance, and assist with objects over 75 pounds (34 kg).
• Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or an entire shift, and moving at the speed required for work situations (*, running, walking, jogging).
• Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats, visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Proficiency in entering and retrieving work-related information using computers and POS systems.
• Capable of grasping, turning, and manipulating objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Comfortable moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs and service ramps.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
