Job Description

About the Role

Ma’aden is seeking a Supervisor, Mining to oversee and coordinate mining activities at a designated mine site. This full-time role involves managing a team of mining operators, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing production efficiency. The Supervisor, Mining plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of ore and managing equipment utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and dumping activities, to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and environmental standards in all mining activities, conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.
  • Provide leadership and direction to mining crews, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and training to improve skills and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with mine planning and engineering teams to implement mine plans, optimize pit designs, and sequence mining activities to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution.
  • Monitor equipment performance and utilization, coordinating maintenance activities and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mining equipment, infrastructure, and work areas, identifying maintenance requirements, safety hazards, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and equipment logs, preparing reports and documentation for management review and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with other departments, such as geology, processing, and maintenance, to coordinate ore delivery, grade control, and equipment scheduling to support overall production objectives.
  • Monitor and control operating costs, managing consumables, fuel consumption, and labor resources to optimize productivity and minimize operating expenses.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among mining personnel, promoting adherence to company policies, values, and performance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geology, or a related field. Additional certifications in mine supervision or leadership are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in open-pit or underground mining operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
