About the Role

Wood is seeking a TPE IV/Senior Civil Engineer to manage all site construction activities for large-scale mining infrastructure projects. This full-time position is based at a remote site within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Project Oversight and Scope

The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee the complete project lifecycle, from initial groundbreaking and structural execution through to final field handover. A core responsibility is ensuring strict compliance with all relevant engineering standards and safety regulations throughout project delivery for critical mining infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction site assessments, surveys, and site mobilization efforts.
• Manage extensive earthworks, bulk excavations, and grading operations, including verification of ground stabilization, soil compaction, and improvement as required.
• Oversee foundation pouring and curing processes for mining infrastructure.
• Supervise the installation of structural steel and reinforced concrete for processing plants, ensuring adherence to project specifications and engineering designs.
• Issue non-conformance reports for any unacceptable construction incidents.
• Direct the implementation of waterproofing, thermal insulation, and asset protection systems designed to withstand harsh climatic conditions.
• Design and deploy comprehensive stormwater drainage networks and flood mitigation systems.
• Manage civil finishing works, including the construction of heavy-haul mining roads and access pavements.
• Coordinate utility trenching, pipeline installation, and containment pond construction.
• Provide real-time field engineering support and troubleshooting to minimize operational downtime.
• Enforce stringent Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols in collaboration with local regulatory bodies.
• Review engineering drawings and 3D models to resolve onsite design clashes and respond to technical queries (RFIs).

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically within large-scale mining infrastructure projects.
