Your Future Role:
As an OBU Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and availability of On-Board Units (OBUs) in EMD freight locomotives. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Providing technical support to customers and assessing employee competencies.
  • Maintaining test tools and ensuring their calibration.
  • Optimizing repair flows and supporting test runs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the availability and reliability of the OBU system.
  • Diagnosing and proactively addressing critical issues.
  • Supervising installation work and coordinating subcontractor activities.
  • Advising drivers during service incidents to minimize delays.

Qualifications:
We value attitude and passion over experience. However, to be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in signalling equipment.
  • Knowledge of communication ports like RS232 and office tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate detailed reports.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and prepare technical reports on faults and incidents.
  • Identify recurring system issues and recommend corrective actions during PPMs and callouts.
  • Maintain and update system firmware, security patches, and configurations across all sites.
  • Ensure system connectivity to Control Rooms and Security Offices.
  • Maintain system documentation, logs, service reports, and maintenance records.
  • Implement network security measures and ensure compliance with IT standards.
  • Manage system startup/shutdown procedures and monitor system performance.
  • Supervise technicians, review daily progress reports, and provide alternative technical solutions when required.
  • Prepare test reports for cabling, power management, and system terminations.
