About the Apigee Expert Role

DeepSource is seeking an experienced Apigee Expert to join our team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and managing API solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically utilizing Apigee. The role involves architecting secure, scalable, and high-performing API ecosystems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement APIs using Apigee Edge or Apigee X, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Configure, deploy, and manage API proxies, policies, and traffic flows within the API gateway.
• Implement robust security measures including OAuth, JWT, and API keys for authentication and authorization.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize API performance, focusing on latency and throughput.
• Facilitate integration of APIs with backend services, microservices, and third-party applications.
• Utilize Apigee analytics and logging tools for tracking API usage, anomaly detection, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to align API strategies with business objectives.
• Maintain comprehensive API documentation, enforce governance standards, and promote an API-first approach.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience with Google Apigee.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing API solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Demonstrated ability to architect secure and scalable API ecosystems.
• Familiarity with API security protocols and best practices.
• Experience with API performance monitoring and optimization techniques.

Key Technical Skills

• Expertise in Apigee Edge and/or Apigee X.
• Proficiency in API gateway management, including proxy configuration and policy implementation.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
• Experience with API integration patterns and technologies.
• Familiarity with Apigee analytics and logging tools.

Collaboration and Documentation

This role requires strong collaboration skills to work effectively with development, architecture, and DevOps teams. The Apigee Expert will be responsible for ensuring alignment between API strategies and overall business goals.
