About the Role

Sehati for Information Technology Services is seeking an Application Platform Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves supporting a national-scale transaction and integration platform, focusing on its reliability, performance, security, and continuous improvement. The role requires a strong technical background in platform engineering, DevOps, and modern architectural principles.

Role Overview

The Application Platform Engineer will be instrumental in maintaining and evolving a critical national platform. This includes contributing to major releases, troubleshooting complex technical issues, driving automation initiatives, and implementing new technologies. The position demands a proactive approach to ensuring the platform's operational excellence and architectural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing operation, enhancement, and continuous improvement of a national-scale transaction and integration platform.
• Participate in application deployments, upgrades, releases, and platform enhancements.
• Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support root cause analysis efforts.
• Contribute to improvements in platform architecture, scalability, resilience, availability, performance, and security.
• Monitor platform health, availability, and performance metrics.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to platform modernization and continuous improvement strategies.
• Provide technical expertise across application, integration, and platform technologies to support major initiatives and complex implementations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), application administration, or related technical roles.
• Proven experience delivering and operating production applications, with a comprehensive understanding of the full application lifecycle.

Technical Expertise Required

• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, release management, and platform reliability.
• Proficiency in database technologies and concepts, including schema design, indexing, partitioning, performance optimization, and data lifecycle management.
• Solid understanding of modern platform technologies, such as integration and messaging platforms, search and observability solutions, object storage, caching technologies, container platforms, and cloud services.
• Familiarity with networking, load balancing, authentication, authorization, and API security concepts.
