About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a Bioinformatician to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves the organization, maintenance, and mining of biological information through the development and application of advanced computational tools and processes.

Role Overview

The Bioinformatician will participate in establishing regulated digital environments for scientific data acquisition, storage, integration, and mining. This role contributes to the development of strategies for acquiring necessary software and hardware to support advanced biological research and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in developing integrated biological databases, novel software, and algorithms to facilitate scientific investigation.
• Utilize existing databases and analytical tools for the discovery and validation of biological processes to meet specific scientific project needs.
• Support the development and maintenance of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for efficient sample tracking, data acquisition, storage, and dissemination.
• Participate in testing new and updated bioinformatics tools and software.
• Consult with researchers to analyze problems, recommend technology-based solutions, and determine computational strategies.
• Analyze, interpret, and communicate research results through conference presentations, scientific publications, or project reports.
• Adhere to all Hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in ongoing education, training, and development for self and others.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates are expected to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field. The role requires a strong understanding of state-of-the-art engineering, advanced mathematics, and computational processes applied to biological information.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role operates within a research-focused environment, requiring collaboration with researchers and adherence to hospital protocols.
