About the Director of Events Role

Capella Hotels and Resorts is seeking a Director of Events to lead strategic planning, sales coordination, execution, and overall management of all hotel events. This full-time position in Riyadh requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, fostering strong client relationships, and optimizing revenue in alignment with Capella's luxury hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Events will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties to ensure successful event operations. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing the hotel's event strategy to maximize revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Leading and managing the Events team, ensuring adherence to Capella brand standards and service culture.
  • Establishing annual departmental goals, budgets, forecasts, and performance objectives.
  • Driving innovation in event concepts, guest experiences, and service delivery.
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, wedding organizers, and key stakeholders.
  • Conducting site inspections and client consultations to secure event business.
  • Reviewing and approving event proposals, contracts, and agreements.
  • Ensuring clear communication and execution of all client requirements and expectations.
  • Managing VIP, high-profile, and special events with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end planning and execution of all events.
  • Ensuring seamless inter-departmental coordination for flawless event delivery.
  • Leading event operations meetings and pre-conference briefings.
  • Monitoring event quality standards and ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
  • Serving as the primary escalation point for event-related concerns and guest issues.
  • Monitoring event revenues, costs, and labor expenses, and evaluating pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Analyzing financial performance and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensuring team compliance with company policies and professional standards.
  • Promoting employee engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8–10 years of experience in luxury hospitality, event management, or catering operations.
  • Experience within international luxury hotel brands is preferred.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
