The Director of Finance will join the team at Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh, a distinguished property in the heart of the city, offering timeless elegance and signature service. This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Position Summary

The Director of Finance is responsible for the comprehensive supervision of all members within the Finance & Purchasing Department at Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh. This role involves establishing optimal control objectives and implementing robust internal control systems across income, expenditure, assets, and liabilities within the hotel. Key responsibilities also include managing the budget and forecast processes, and actively participating in finance meetings with Corporate MOHG finance and the hotel Owners. The Director of Finance reports directly to the General Manager and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Financial and Operational Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, and support the development, implementation, maintenance, and administration of all financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Ensure financial controls and accounting procedures adhere to Group corporate management established policy, generally accepted accounting principles, the hotel’s management contract, and local legal requirements.
• Manage the hotel’s budget and forecast processes, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
• Participate in finance meetings with Corporate MOHG finance and the hotel Owners, providing financial insights and reports.
• Play an active role in the overall management of the hotel, demonstrating responsiveness to the needs of the General Manager and other members of the hotel management team.

Internal Controls and Asset Management

• Determine and implement optimum control objectives, and install and maintain appropriate internal control systems over income, expenditure, assets, and liabilities.
• Ensure adequate controls are in place and maintained to protect the hotel’s assets against loss or misappropriation.
• Assume full responsibility for the proper control of all cash funds and other assets managed by subordinates.
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained for the hotel’s assets, in accordance with the requirements outlined in the hotel’s management contract.

Team Leadership and Information Security

• Prioritize and document colleagues’ career path and development needs in line with the MO Profile online system.
• Conduct monthly meetings with all colleagues to facilitate open communication regarding concerns, challenges, and departmental/hotel information.
• Safeguard stored information and maintain the confidentiality of personal data concerning guests, customers, or colleagues, and all confidential hotel information, unless authorized.
• Identify and regularly review the classification levels of all information within the department.
• Ensure the security of information and information security equipment assets under control, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Authorize and manage user access to information, revoking access when no longer required.
• Monitor Information Policy compliance within the scope of authority and report any Information Security incidents to the Information Security Officer.
