About Dream of the Desert

Dream of the Desert is Saudi Arabia’s first luxury train experience, offering a journey that blends world-class hospitality, cultural heritage, and diverse landscapes. Developed in collaboration with leading international partners, the project aims to redefine luxury rail travel in the region by delivering guest experiences inspired by Saudi traditions and modern excellence. As a fast-growing organization, Dream of the Desert is establishing new standards in luxury tourism and hospitality within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Role: Director of MICE & Private Charters

Dream of the Desert is seeking a Director of MICE & Private Charters to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is a founding commercial leadership role responsible for building and leading one of the company's strategic revenue streams. The Director will define the charter proposition, establish the B2B pipeline from the ground up, and position Dream of the Desert as a venue for high-end corporate and private events, including full-train private charters, corporate incentive programs, executive retreats, weddings, and milestone celebrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage the comprehensive private charter and MICE commercial strategy, including packaging, pricing architecture, and yield management for full-train buyouts.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of corporate clients, incentive houses, DMCs, luxury travel advisors, and event planners across KSA, the GCC, and international source markets.
  • Create signature event formats, such as desert gala dinners, incentive journeys, board retreats, and cultural programs, in collaboration with onboard operations and destination partners.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with giga-projects, government entities, and Vision 2030-aligned institutions seeking hosting venues.
  • Oversee the end-to-end client experience for charter bookings, from proposal and contracting to bespoke program design and on-journey execution.
  • Represent Dream of the Desert at relevant MICE trade platforms, including IMEX, ILTM, ATM, and Saudi-hosted forums.
  • Develop revenue forecasts, reporting mechanisms, and CRM discipline specific to the charter segment.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to produce B2B collateral, charter brochures, and sales tools.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in luxury hospitality, MICE sales, or incentive travel.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or director-level commercial role.
  • Proven track record in selling high-value group programs, such as full-property buyouts, incentive journeys, or comparable ultra-luxury formats.
  • An established network among GCC corporate buyers, incentive houses, DMCs, and luxury event planners; existing relationships in the Saudi market are strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with government, semi-government, or giga-project clients is considered a significant advantage.

Skills and Attributes

  • Demonstrated commercial rigor in pricing, contracting, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Willingness to travel across Saudi Arabia and internationally, including maintaining an onboard presence during charter journeys.
