About the Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Director - Railway Depot, Rolling Stock, Track and Systems to join their team in Riyadh. This is a full-time, client-side leadership position responsible for the comprehensive management of metro railway infrastructure and operations for a major program. The role requires extensive experience in leading large-scale railway projects from inception through to operational readiness.

Role Overview

The Director of Depot, Rolling Stock and Systems (DRSS) will oversee the planning, design, procurement, delivery, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of all metro depot facilities, rolling stock, track, and railway systems. This senior role is critical for ensuring safe, reliable, integrated, and efficient railway operations, managing complex interfaces between various stakeholders including infrastructure, contractors, operators, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, delivery, and governance for depot facilities, rolling stock, track, and railway systems.
• Oversee the design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover of depot infrastructure.
• Manage rolling stock procurement, supplier performance, testing, acceptance, and lifecycle requirements.
• Provide leadership across all railway systems, including signalling, communications, SCADA, traction power, E&M systems, platform screen doors, AFC, cybersecurity, track, and depot systems.
• Ensure systems integration, interface management, configuration control, safety assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate interfaces with civil works, utilities, roads, developers, operators, regulators, and third-party stakeholders.
• Lead testing, commissioning, trial operations, and operational readiness activities to support successful service commencement.
• Support procurement, contract management, technical approvals, change control, claims review, and commercial negotiations.
• Drive risk management, quality assurance, safety culture, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Railway Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional Engineering registration or equivalent accreditation is required. A Master's degree, Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, PMP, or similar certification is preferred.

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in railway, metro, transit, or major transportation infrastructure projects.
• Proven client-side leadership experience on large rail programs.
• Strong background in depot development, rolling stock delivery, railway systems integration, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary international teams and complex stakeholder interfaces.
• Preferred experience with driverless metro systems, greenfield metro projects, and international railway standards (EN).

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. Qiddiya is a significant mega-project located just outside the city, focused on creating a future capital for entertainment, sports, and culture. The role involves working on a major metro program, contributing to a national transformation initiative.
