About the Role

Norconsult Telematics is seeking an experienced Edge & Certification Designer to join our team in the Riyadh Region. This contract position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience to support the transformation and design of Edge & Certification infrastructure.

Role Overview

The Edge & Certification Designer will provide comprehensive support to the Edge & Certification Section Manager. This includes overseeing the transformation, design, and delivery of current and future Edge & Certification infrastructure. The role is also responsible for end-to-end capacity management of cloud platforms and elements, as well as cloud automation use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design future and existing edge cloud & certification infrastructure to host mobile and fixed voice and data services, VAS, and other telco workloads.
• Expedite the transformation, modernization, and migration of Edge & Certification services in alignment with emerging technologies and industry evolution.
• Manage capacity and performance-related expansions for various Edge & Certification service components.
• Collaborate with Business Units to fulfill demand priorities, identify technical solutions, and required budgets.
• Lead the translation of the Edge & Certification infrastructure deployment plan into specific design activities.
• Prepare and evaluate RFX, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for Edge & Certification infrastructure and services based on annual business demands.
• Perform and revise Edge & Certification infrastructure dimensioning and solutions design, verifying and approving related Method of Procedure (MOPs).
• Expand Edge and Certification infrastructure to accommodate evolving service requirements and organizational growth targets.
• Support network architecture evolution and technology strategy roadmap.
• Build capabilities to support 5G standalone core, private networks, and Edge use cases.
• Design business continuity, multi-level resilience, and disaster recovery plans for Edge & Certification infrastructure and services, meeting Business Continuity and Risk Management requirements.
• Manage design activities for Edge & Certification components including Infrastructure, Hypervisor, VIM, VNFMs, CNFMs, NFVO, DC SDN, WAN solutions, load balancers, network cards, and management/automation tools.
• Conduct Proofs of Concept (POCs) and propose solutions based on emerging technologies.
• Validate vendor technical solutions, ensuring the use of the latest technologies and functional capabilities in compliance with CST regulations.
• Lead the Lab/staging design of Management and Orchestration (MANO) components, aligning with common Virtual Network Function Managers (VNFMs) and Network Functions Virtualization Orchestrator (NFVO) standards.
• Maintain and approve Technical Specifications documentation, including High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Integration Specs, and Solution Documents.
• Ensure efficient engagement with cybersecurity and data protection teams to incorporate relevant security requirements and guidelines into Edge & Certification infrastructure and services design.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Telecommunication.
• 10+ years of experience in the Enterprise IT and telecommunication industry, with in-depth exposure to private cloud platforms and edge & certification design.
• Ability to perform necessary architecture analysis and design activities.
• Experience in the design and deployment of private cloud solutions, SDN/NFV Cloud, solution architecture, Agile methodology, and technical leadership.
• Understanding of ETSI NFVI standardization for MANO, NFVO, VNFM, and VIM.
• Experience in VNF onboarding and testing, OpenStack, and components like Neutron, Nova, Cinder, Horizon.
• Hands-on experience with Private Cloud Solutions for NFV Cloud/VIM such as Red Hat OpenStack and Cisco CVIM.
• Hands-on experience with SDN technologies including Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, and Open Daylight.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Docker, OpenShift, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge and experience in IT Infrastructure, Virtualization, and Security.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible for automating repetitive tasks, deploying applications, and managing changes.
• Familiarity with orchestration, management, and virtualization concepts.
• Experience with preparation and evaluation of RFX, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for Enterprise and Edge Cloud.
• Good knowledge of executive management reporting, presentations, and dashboard concepts with strong analytical skills.
• High-level presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

This is a contract role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position requires a dedicated professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications and IT infrastructure sector.
