The Role of Electrical Commissioning Engineer

SGS is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the operational readiness and compliance of complex electrical and safety systems within data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems in data centers, including UPS, STS, PDU, RPP, generators, and associated fuel systems.
• Conduct functional testing of power distribution systems and emergency power scenarios to verify performance and reliability.
• Execute commissioning of fire and life safety systems within data centers, encompassing VESDA, clean agent systems (Novec/FM‑200), fire alarms, and interlocks with MEP systems.
• Lead integrated life-safety testing during Integrated System Testing (IST) scenarios.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• A minimum of 12 years of overall relevant experience in electrical commissioning.

Essential Knowledge and Expertise

• Demonstrated familiarity with Tier III concurrent maintainability requirements for data centers.
• Profound knowledge of NFPA, local civil defense regulations, and international standards pertinent to electrical and life safety systems.
