About the Role

Teneo is seeking a talented and driven Senior Vice President to join its Strategy and Communications team in Riyadh. This role is part of a team that provides integrated communications counsel to business and government leaders, focusing on creating effective narratives, managing reputation, engaging key audiences, and supporting clients' strategic objectives. Candidates with diverse perspectives, whether from agency or in-house backgrounds, are encouraged to apply. Prior experience within the Saudi market is highly desirable.

Role Context and Responsibilities

As a Senior Vice President, you will serve as a primary client contact, responsible for delivering high-quality service and driving activity across multiple account teams. You will provide regular insight and analysis to support clients' reputational and strategic goals. This position involves managing and coaching Senior Associates and Vice Presidents, while working under the guidance of Managing Directors. The role primarily supports publicly listed corporate clients with financial communications and investor relations, but encourages development across all Teneo's disciplines, including financial and M&A, digital, corporate communications, change management, sustainability, and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide investor and capital markets expertise, guiding client engagement with stakeholders, stock exchanges, and shareholders.
  • Lead the development and deployment of communications strategies, leveraging research and Teneo's resources.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of investor relations and financial communication strategies for institutional and retail investors, including earnings announcements, presentations, and risk analysis.
  • Manage account delivery, leading expert teams, and acting as the main client point of contact.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying growth opportunities and proactively managing client needs.
  • Support new business development by building prospect relationships, leading proposals, and participating in pitch meetings.
  • Provide talent management for junior colleagues, supporting their performance reviews and career growth.

Additional Expectations

You will be expected to build strong, long-term partnerships and seek organic growth opportunities. This includes creating advisory notes for client leadership on media narratives, financial markets, geopolitical risks, and reputational issues, while monitoring media coverage. You will provide support and insight to client teams, proactively highlighting opportunities and concerns. Building internal and external networks is crucial, as is actively seeking learning and development opportunities. Coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues, including Senior Associates and Vice Presidents, is a key aspect of the role.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, journalism, political science, law, public policy, international relations, business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a strategy, communications, or finance/investor relations role, within agency or in-house.
  • Strong understanding of finance, capital markets, and/or investor relations.
  • Experience within the Saudi market, including its media, Investor Relations, and business landscapes.
  • Native or fluent proficiency in Arabic.
  • Outstanding leadership skills, particularly in multicultural and interdisciplinary settings.
  • Experience providing senior client counsel on corporate reputation or market-related topics.
  • Ability to grasp clients’ business objectives and industry dynamics to draft compelling narratives.
  • Experience working with international media, including crisis and issues management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word).
