Role Context and Operational Impact

As an Area/Shift Manager, you will be integral to maintaining the pace of business operations to meet demand. This position involves understanding the intricacies of a global business and implementing strategies to ensure seamless execution. You will work closely with colleagues to address operational challenges, contributing directly to the overall efficiency and success of the site.

Key Responsibilities

Promote and maintain a culture of safety and wellbeing within the team and across the site.
Analyze operational performance and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent quality and productivity, meeting business objectives across all shifts.
Lead and support a team, managing administrative tasks while fostering a strong team culture.
Identify and suggest process improvements based on performance analysis to optimize workflows and enhance customer service.
Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes and operational procedures.

A Typical Day in the Role

This role involves working shifts and being based at one of Amazon's operational sites. Daily activities will focus on maintaining safety standards for your team and the site, alongside monitoring and improving process efficiency. Routine tasks include team management and daily operational duties, as well as handling individual escalations, contributing to process improvement initiatives, and participating in wide-scale operational contingency planning.

You will collaborate with colleagues from various teams and external partners to ensure customer demands and targets are met. This includes analyzing data and performance metrics with leaders in your business area and discussing the operational implications of technical improvements with engineers.
