The Opportunity

Buro Happold is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to join its office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role offers an opportunity to develop technical expertise within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to high-profile regional and international projects. Fire engineering at Buro Happold focuses on delivering performance-based solutions that balance life safety, design ambition, and regulatory compliance, supporting projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of fire safety strategies and engineering solutions across a range of projects.
• Assist in applying local and international fire codes, standards, and performance-based design approaches.
• Perform fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis, utilizing both hand calculations and advanced simulation tools.
• Contribute to the selection and integration of fire protection systems, such as detection and suppression systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure coordinated and effective design solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
• Support coordination with local authorities and regulatory bodies in Saudi Arabia.
• Attend site visits to review the implementation of fire engineering strategies.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with 0-1 years of experience, seeking to develop technical expertise in fire engineering. An interest in working on complex projects, particularly within the Middle East, is beneficial. The role requires a collaborative approach to integrate with multidisciplinary design teams.
