About the Role

Ericsson is seeking a Head of Compliance for Market Area EMEA. This is a strategically important role focused on integrity, compliance, and risk management across the business. The position is full-time and based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

This role encompasses the full spectrum of ethics and compliance risks, including anti-bribery and corruption, antitrust and competition, anti-money laundering, human rights, anti-fraud, anti-terrorism, and reputational risk. The Head of Compliance will proactively identify emerging threats and collaborate with the business to address them. This position is key in enabling business leaders to own and manage risk as a driver of sustainable success.

As Head of Compliance EMEA, you will lead a team of compliance and risk professionals, serving diverse business and organizational units. You will partner with stakeholders to embed Ericsson's Ethics and Compliance program, foster genuine business ownership of risk, and drive accountability. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will also have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Head of Legal EMEA, participating in both the Compliance Office Leadership Team and the Market Area Legal Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing all aspects of the Market Area's Ethics and Compliance program to ensure operations within a robust framework of controls and ethical standards.
  • Acting as a solution-oriented advisor, supporting business stakeholders in identifying, owning, and managing compliance and risk matters.
  • Driving a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance, empowering business leaders to take ownership of risk.
  • Championing business success by providing strategic and tactical solutions.
  • Leading and developing the Compliance team, fostering a culture where team members can enable business success with integrity.
  • Leading horizon scanning and emerging risk identification across the Market Area in partnership with the EMEA Head of Legal.
  • Leading the Market Area's Ethics and Compliance related governance activities, managing relevant committees.
  • Overseeing the engagement, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of third parties.
  • Leading training and awareness initiatives to equip stakeholders with knowledge on compliance and risk topics.
  • Assessing and managing actual or potential conflicts of interest, expenditure risks, and engagements with public officials.
  • Leading remediation resulting from investigations or consequence management processes.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across legal, internal audit, and other assurance functions for holistic risk identification and mitigation.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess strong ethics, compliance, and risk management credentials, including at least 10 years of experience in an ethics & compliance or related risk leadership role within a multinational organization. Demonstrable breadth across multiple compliance disciplines is required, such as anti-bribery and corruption, antitrust, anti-money laundering, human rights, and reputational risk.

A legal degree is strongly preferred. Experience operating in the EMEA region, including in high-risk markets, is essential. The role requires a proven track record of successfully partnering and collaborating with senior business, commercial, and functional leaders to identify, own, and manage risks, with a focus on enabling business success through sound risk management.

Additional requirements include:

  • Experience in a matrixed organization and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate expectations and risks clearly and concisely to all levels.
  • Capacity to take ownership of complex problems and projects and drive them to completion.
  • Experience in managing and developing a large, diverse team across multiple locations.
  • Impeccable judgment, maturity, and discretion, with the ability to engage in difficult conversations with senior stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude and strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Working proficiency in languages relevant to the Market Area is preferred.
  • Ability to work across time zones and travel internationally.
