About the Policy Researcher Internship

The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL invites applications for a remote Policy Researcher – Internship. This program is designed for students, recent graduates, early-career researchers, and professionals interested in policy research, human rights, governance, international relations, law, public policy, and related fields. While the Institute maintains a presence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this specific internship offers a fully remote working environment.

Internship Focus and Structure

Selected interns will work under structured guidance and supervision to develop essential skills in research, analytical writing, and policy drafting. The role involves conducting literature reviews, performing policy analysis, preparing research notes, and drafting a supervised research paper, policy brief, or analytical report. The internship includes an initial four-week methodology training program, followed by a four-week research writing phase to ensure comprehensive skill development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews on approved policy, legal, human rights, governance, or international relations topics.
• Prepare research summaries, issue notes, and analytical briefs.
• Participate in online supervision or guidance sessions as required.
• Draft a research paper, policy brief, or analytical report under supervision.
• Revise written work based on feedback and established research standards.
• Meet agreed deadlines within a remote working environment.
• Adhere to ethical research, citation, originality, and academic integrity requirements.

Candidate Eligibility and Background

The Institute welcomes applications from a diverse range of candidates, including Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral students, recent graduates or alumni from recognized universities, and early-career professionals with an interest in research and policy analysis. Applicants should typically have 0-1 years of experience in a related field. Candidates from disciplines such as law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
