About the Role

SJ Group, a global urban, infrastructure, and managed services consulting firm, is seeking experienced professionals for a Project Director – Construction Supervision role. This full-time position is for upcoming major infrastructure projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting the continued expansion of SJ Group's Middle East operations.

Role Overview

The Project Director – Construction Supervision will lead and oversee the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. This role requires strategic leadership and management of multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet all contractual, quality, safety, and timeline objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the execution of major infrastructure projects through their entire lifecycle.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to project teams, including engineering, construction supervision, commercial, and project controls.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, fostering strong relationships with clients, government bodies, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and adhere to quality, safety, and contractual specifications.
• Monitor project performance, identify potential risks and opportunities, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Oversee contract administration, commercial management, and the resolution of claims.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and governance requirements.
• Promote project excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within project teams.
• Support business development efforts, including client engagement and proposal development.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 20+ years of experience in delivering major infrastructure projects, with substantial experience in construction supervision and project leadership.
• Demonstrated success in leading large, complex infrastructure projects and diverse project teams.
• A strong understanding of project management principles, construction supervision practices, contract administration, commercial management, and project controls.
• Extensive experience managing senior-level client relationships and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience within international consultancy environments is highly desirable.
• Project experience in the GCC and specifically the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is strongly preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Chartership, or equivalent are advantageous.
