About the Security Operation Senior Expert Role

stc is seeking a Security Operation Senior Expert to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in cybersecurity operations. The role holder will be responsible for managing and enhancing cybersecurity operations across stc's networks, systems, and applications to ensure effective threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation.

Core Responsibilities

The Security Operation Senior Expert will lead continuous monitoring activities across networks, applications, and systems to proactively identify, assess, and respond to cybersecurity threats. This includes overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of security controls, leading Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, and analyzing cybersecurity incidents and threat trends to strengthen the overall security posture. The role also involves leading security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing activities, as well as driving vulnerability management efforts through coordination of remediation, patch management, and system hardening.

Key Functional Accountabilities

• Lead continuous monitoring of networks, applications, systems, and integration points to identify and respond to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
• Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of security controls across network assets, systems, and security platforms.
• Lead SOC operational activities, ensuring effective threat detection, incident triage, and response coordination.
• Analyze cybersecurity incidents, attack patterns, and threat trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead security assessments, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing activities, and remediation planning.
• Drive vulnerability management activities by coordinating remediation efforts, patch management, and system hardening.
• Coordinate with Strategy & Governance and relevant stakeholders to maintain cybersecurity documentation and operational records for compliance and audits.
• Provide cybersecurity risk insights, incident updates, and security recommendations to management.
• Evaluate and apply threat intelligence and security advisories to enhance preventive and detective security capabilities.
• Monitor cybersecurity performance metrics and incident trends, recommending improvements to enhance SOC maturity.
• Support the enhancement and continuous improvement of cybersecurity frameworks and incident response capabilities.
• Lead cybersecurity awareness and knowledge-sharing activities within operational teams.

Experience and Qualifications

This role requires a minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years of experience in cybersecurity operations. The candidate will be expected to ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in all duties performed, adhering to stipulated business policies and procedures.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role holder will be integral to strengthening cybersecurity controls and driving continuous improvement of security operations within stc.
