About the Role

Devsinc is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with a strong background in technology contracts, data privacy, and intellectual property, capable of advising within complex, cross-cultural corporate environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of technology agreements, including SaaS, EULAs, Master Service Agreements, Software Licensing, Cloud Agreements, OEM, and Joint Development Agreements.
  • Lead commercial contract negotiations with enterprise clients, vendors, data providers, and resellers, ensuring appropriate terms and risk mitigation.
  • Advise business teams on legal and contractual risks associated with RFP terms and conditions, proposing practical mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for the legal team.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the company's Data Governance Framework, including policies, notices, and agreement amendments.
  • Manage the Data Protection Officer (DPO) function, serving as the primary privacy liaison internally and with regulators.
  • Drive compliance programs for GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA, including training, data subject request handling, and breach response.
  • Align data protection practices with industry frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC standards.
  • Provide counsel on IP strategy for new product releases, including patent analytics and IP checklist reviews.
  • Advise on open-source software licensing compliance for various use scenarios.
  • Manage trademark matters, including classification searches and infringement support.
  • Support due diligence and risk assessment for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks through contractual mechanisms in M&A and strategic transactions.
  • Collaborate with external counsel on cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.

Qualifications and Experience

  • LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution; postgraduate specialization in IP or technology law is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in technology law.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an in-house corporate legal role.
  • Proven track record working with large companies in cross-cultural and multi-jurisdictional environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating complex, high-value technology deals.
  • Hands-on experience implementing data privacy programs under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US, CIPP/E, or equivalent) from IAPP is highly preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Deep expertise in software licensing, SaaS contracting, and cloud computing agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of open-source compliance frameworks and OSS license obligations.
  • Ability to manage external counsel effectively, including budget and matter oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a commercial orientation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role requires advising on legal matters within complex, cross-cultural corporate environments.
