About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Startup Investor Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The individual will play a central role in advancing cloud computing adoption within the Kingdom by identifying and collaborating with early-stage startups and venture capital firms.

Role Context and Engagement

As a Senior Startup Investor Manager, you will leverage technical depth, business acumen, and investment insight to position AWS as the foundational platform for emerging technology companies. AWS has nearly 20 years of experience supporting hundreds of thousands of startups globally, with over 80% of unicorns choosing to launch on AWS. This role involves direct engagement with venture capital firms and angel investors to accelerate the success of their portfolio companies. You will facilitate the utilization of AWS technologies to foster innovation and scaling, supporting initiatives that connect the investment community with AWS resources. This includes combining a technical understanding of cloud and emerging technologies, such as generative AI, with business acumen to ensure startups have access to necessary tools, expertise, and support.

Key Responsibilities

Build Partner-level relationships with leading Venture Capital firms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Create and execute investor-focused programs designed to accelerate portfolio company success.
Implement solutions that effectively address specific startup and investor needs.
Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives involving AWS Startups, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
Monitor program effectiveness and provide feedback based on results.
Collect early-stage market signals from investors and founders to support AWS innovation and meet evolving needs.
Evaluate the technical and business potential of startups by understanding their architecture, technology stack, and market opportunity.
Serve as an advisor to portfolio companies, assisting them in optimizing their cloud architecture and go-to-market approach.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating technical depth, business acumen, and investment insight. A strong understanding of cloud technologies and emerging areas such as generative AI is required. The role demands the ability to evaluate the technical and business potential of startups and advise on cloud architecture and market strategies.
