Role Overview: Senior Structural Bridges Engineer

IDOM is seeking a Senior Structural Bridges Engineer to join its Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is within the Infrastructure Division and requires specific expertise in Civil Engineering and Transportation projects, particularly those involving roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments. The role involves coordinating all technical aspects related to structural design and construction across mega civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical control for all structural works and coordinate with other discipline specialists and quality control personnel.
• Resolve design issues where possible, or coordinate design issues with home office support.
• Advise technically on proposed design changes.
• Oversee and coordinate the review of Contractor’s technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and design submissions.
• Conduct final reviews of all Contractor’s review drawings, schedules, or materials submittals to ensure compliance with the overall design concepts of the project.
• Assess and provide technical reports on Value Engineering proposals.
• Coordinate with any other supervision services team.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the structural engineering department and the Technical Manager.

Technical Scope and Project Focus

The role specifically focuses on infrastructure projects within urban environments, encompassing roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels. Responsibilities include the revision and recommendation of potential modifications, development of method statements, and defining construction methodologies for structures and bridges, ensuring technical integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a Structural/Bridges Engineer.
• Demonstrated expertise in Civil Engineering and Transportation projects, particularly those involving bridges and other urban infrastructure.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex technical aspects of structural design and construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and quality control processes.
