Emdad By Elm is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Tester to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to ensuring the quality and reliability of the company's software solutions.

The Role of Software Quality Assurance Tester

The Software Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for maintaining high software quality across various platforms, including web, mobile, APIs, and databases. This involves comprehensive test planning, execution, and automation, alongside defect identification and validation of new features to ensure all releases meet stringent quality standards before deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform manual testing of web, mobile, and API-based applications.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Conduct various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, usability, compatibility, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate new features against defined business and technical requirements.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using appropriate bug tracking tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Work with Product Owners to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Perform API testing and validate backend services, along with database records and data integrity.
• Execute cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing.
• Perform performance, load, and basic security testing where applicable.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Maintain testing documentation and provide regular test execution reports.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks.
• Ensure all software releases meet defined quality standards prior to production deployment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 0-1 years of experience in software quality assurance. This full-time role requires a foundational understanding of software development and testing principles.

Essential Testing Knowledge and Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

• Testing Knowledge: SDLC & STLC, Defect Life Cycle, Test Case Design Techniques (Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning, Decision Table Testing, State Transition Testing, Pairwise Testing), Risk-Based Testing, Root Cause Analysis, Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM), Test Metrics & Reporting, Agile Testing Principles, Continuous Testing, and Shift-Left Testing.
• Technical Skills: Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), End-to-End Testing, Exploratory Testing, UI/UX Testing, Cross-Browser Testing, Cross-Platform Testing, Accessibility Testing, Compatibility Testing, Localization Testing, Database Testing, API Testing, Security Testing, and Performance Testing.
