About the Role

Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a dedicated Sterilization Technician to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of instrument sterility and patient safety within a healthcare environment. The role is crucial for supporting surgical operations and clinical services by ensuring all medical equipment is properly decontaminated, prepared, sterilized, and distributed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and inspect used surgical instruments and medical equipment for decontamination.
  • Manually clean instruments using appropriate detergents and disinfectants, and operate decontamination equipment such as ultrasonic cleaners, washers, and disinfectors.
  • Assemble surgical instrument sets and medical equipment according to established protocols.
  • Package instruments and supplies for sterilization, ensuring proper wrapping, labeling, and documentation, and report any instrument damage or wear to the line manager.
  • Operate sterilizers (*, autoclaves) in adherence to manufacturer guidelines and Fakeeh Care policies.
  • Monitor and document sterilization cycles, including time, temperature, and pressure parameters, and perform routine biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring tests.
  • Store sterilized instruments and supplies in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation and inventory control.
  • Distribute sterilized instruments and equipment to operating rooms, clinics, and other departments as required.

Quality Control and Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to all infection control and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in regular equipment maintenance, calibration, performance checks, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, OSHA, and facility-specific policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, inventory management, and quality control measures.

Professional Development and Conduct

  • Stay updated on advancements in sterilization techniques and technologies through ongoing education and training.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of the role and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Complete all mandatory training as scheduled, at least one month prior to expiration.
  • Demonstrate compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to patients and staff.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive approach to challenges and uphold Fakeeh Care’s code of conduct, policies, and ethical standards.
