About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a qualified SUPERVISOR, SOCIAL WORK to oversee the operational activities and programs within the Social Work department. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires 5-10 years of experience.

Role Overview

The SUPERVISOR, SOCIAL WORK is responsible for ensuring that departmental operations and programs effectively meet the needs of patients, the patient care team, and other stakeholders. This role involves direct supervision of social work staff and oversight of various departmental functions to maintain high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of Social Workers, including establishing schedules, assigning work, and adjusting assignments based on changing requirements.
• Provide performance feedback to the Department Head regarding Social Workers.
• Manage assigned charity funds, disburse financial assistance to eligible patients, and prepare disbursement reports.
• Design orientation programs and competency checklists for new Social Workers, supervise their performance and progress, and oversee intern activities in coordination with university supervisors.
• Maintain awareness of Hospital policies and procedures, ensuring Social Workers are informed of these and any updates. Revise, develop, recommend, and implement departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure effective communication with the patient care team, other staff, and Social Workers regarding departmental services and programs.
• Recommend corrective actions and improvements for departmental activities.
• Review approved caseload studies, case plans, and referrals to outside resources. Ensure adequate documentation and follow-up recording in social files and ICIS.
• Supervise the daily operation of the morgue, ensuring staff adherence to CBAHI standards and KFSH&RC policies and procedures.
• Oversee the daily operation of the patient Hospitality building and submit monthly statistics to the Department Head.
• Inform Social Workers about available community-based support organizations and encourage their utilization.
• Supervise the performance of the recreational therapist, ensuring adequate playroom coverage, quality recreational activities, and availability of necessary materials.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates are expected to possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in social work or a related field. A strong understanding of social work principles, patient care protocols, and departmental management is essential.
