About the Tactical Investment Professional Role

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) is seeking a Tactical Investment Professional to join its International Investments team. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, will focus on providing strategic insights for PIF’s direct investments in assigned regions, managing the investment transaction process, and ensuring effective portfolio management and performance monitoring. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves developing deep expertise in Tactical Investments across various sectors, including Automotive, Mobility, Technology, Software, Augmented Reality, Robotics, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the identification, evaluation, selection, and management of International Direct Investments, ensuring alignment with PIF's investment policy.
• Participate in co-underwriting opportunities with leading general partners and sponsors in Tactical Investments.
• Manage the transaction process, including financial modeling, valuation, advisor management, negotiation, and closing documentation for International Direct Investments.
• Prepare investment memos, deal recommendations, internal reports, and updates for PIF Board and relevant Committees.
• Engage in portfolio management, reviewing strategic matters, business plans, and board nominations.
• Support operational improvements and strategic initiatives at portfolio companies to drive growth and value creation.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and transaction workstreams.
• Analyze International Direct Investments portfolio performance and recommend corrective actions, staying informed on market developments.
• Contribute to the investment exit process, including recommendations and management of the exit.
• Collaborate with institutional investors, investment banks, and financial advisors.
• Develop and maintain a network of industry experts and firms.
• Proactively monitor investment landscape and market developments through research and network engagement.
• Prepare presentations and updates on International Direct Investments for PIF Committees and Executive Management.
• Contribute to the development and training of junior team members.
• Implement and propose improvements for operational excellence, systems, processes, and practices.
• Support the development and enhancement of policies, systems, and controls, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of deal and project management experience in investment banking, private equity, strategy/management consulting, or corporate development/M&A.
• Relevant certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA), or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) are advantageous.
