About the EPMS Supervisor Role

The NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is seeking an experienced EPMS Supervisor to oversee control operations and manage the work of control room personnel. This full-time position is based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities extending to Neom. The role requires a strong understanding of grid operations and renewable energy technologies to ensure the stable and reliable operation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

The EPMS Supervisor is accountable for the operation of all utility assets, including traditional power plants, transmission lines, distribution networks, and substations, as well as behind-the-meter assets such as DERs and BESS. This involves directing electric system operations engineering through continuous monitoring, planning, analysis, and execution of 24/7 grid operations. The role directly manages generation and transmission operations to maintain safe and reliable electric service and prevent power outages. This includes monitoring operational conditions across the system, making adjustments as needed, and directing field personnel to de-energize circuits or adjust switches to ensure the safety of crews and the public.

  • Supervise and coordinate daily grid operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and real-time monitoring of energy generation and consumption.
  • Implement and oversee operational procedures to ensure grid stability, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyze grid performance data to identify potential issues and develop strategies for operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.
  • Coordinate with renewable energy developers, transmission operators, and regulatory agencies for project integration.
  • Optimize renewable energy dispatch and curtailment to maximize utilization while maintaining grid stability.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for grid disturbances and equipment failures.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders during grid emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (*, FERC, NERC).
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and operational data.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address grid operation challenges.
  • Represent the organization in industry forums and regulatory proceedings.
  • Maintain safe and environmentally sustainable operations of power plants and associated networks.
  • Monitor the implementation of safety procedures.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management for departmental staff.
  • Develop and monitor departmental annual work plans and financial budgets.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or an equivalent field. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in grid operations is required, with a preference for experience in a renewable energy generation-centric environment. At least 3 of these years should be at a senior operational level.
