Health Safety & Environment Specialist

About the Role

Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment Specialist to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time role focuses on overseeing and supervising all Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Construction projects and programs. The specialist will ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and monitor unsafe conditions and acts to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for SANS employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop reports detailing health and safety checks conducted on SANS facilities, providing recommendations for improvement or remedial actions.
• Conduct awareness sessions to enhance understanding of health and safety activities and issue safety instructions to address violations.
• Perform inspections and audits to ensure all facilities meet safety, health, and environment standards and processes.
• Communicate safety highlights to employees within the concerned geographic areas as required.

Incident Management and Control

• Prepare reports documenting incidents, including the facility and time of occurrence.
• Propose methods for managing potential hazardous conditions and practices across systems, equipment, facilities, or processes.
• Conduct investigations as necessary when incidents occur.

Compliance and Policy Adherence

• Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety regulations and all requirements of the law and instructions issued by the Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) project group.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and the implementation of safety initiatives within SANS Directorates to enhance overall system and facility safety.
• Follow up with relevant departments to resolve failures and problems affecting health, safety, and the environment.
• Support in monitoring daily activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, considering leading practices, changes in the business environment, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should have 5-10 years of relevant experience in health, safety, and environment roles.
