About the Baker Lead Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Baker Lead for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves the preparation of a variety of baked goods, ensuring quality and adherence to standards within the hotel's culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Baker Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end preparation of breads and pastries. This includes:

  • Reviewing daily production sheets to understand the variety of baked goods required.
  • Preparing and cooking food items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Safely and appropriately utilizing baking tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Monitoring and ensuring correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food items, reporting any issues to management.
  • Maintaining kitchen logs for food safety program compliance.
  • Informing the Chef of excess food items to aid in planning daily specials.
  • Adhering to and ensuring compliance with food safety handling policies, procedures, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Monitoring the quality of prepared food and portion sizes served throughout the shift.
  • Assisting management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching, serving as a role model.
  • Following all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols, and reporting accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions.
  • Ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with others and answering telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting team goals.
  • Serving as a department role model or mentor.
  • Complying with quality expectations and standards.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including:

  • Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Navigating over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
  • Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: A degree from a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School is required.
  • Related Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is necessary.
  • Supervisory Experience: No prior supervisory experience is required for this role.
  • License or Certification: No specific licenses or certifications are mandated.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role operates within a hotel kitchen environment, requiring adherence to all company policies, including safety and security procedures.
