About the Delivery/Integration Engineer Role

Thales is seeking a Delivery/Integration Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves installing, configuring, and integrating Thales products within customer environments. The role is customer-facing and requires direct work at customer premises, collaborating closely with various technical and operational teams. The engineer will contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from presales to post-deployment support, ensuring professional representation of Thales and adherence to customer security protocols.

Core Mission and Responsibilities

The core mission of this role is to ensure the successful installation, configuration, and integration of Thales products, aligning with customer, project, and Thales requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing and configuring solutions on physical or virtualized hardware.
  • Performing deployment and integration activities at customer premises, adhering to site rules and security policies.
  • Validating site readiness, including access, infrastructure, network connectivity, and customer dependencies.
  • Integrating solutions with customer backend systems and core network elements.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation for deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and handover.
  • Creating and updating customer acceptance test plans.
  • Following Thales processes, delivery methodologies, and integration best practices.
  • Supporting development and validation teams during project delivery.
  • Providing internal training or workshops to support teams as needed.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing within the integration community.
  • Providing regular progress updates, effort tracking, and risk assessments to the Project Manager.
  • Coordinating daily with customer technical, network, security, and operations teams.
  • Delivering clear technical status updates to customer stakeholders.
  • Identifying, managing, and escalating technical risks and issues.
  • Executing customer acceptance test plans and troubleshooting technical issues on-site.
  • Supporting customer go-live activities and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Supporting handover to customer operations and support teams.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

This role has specific mandatory requirements due to customer and local project needs:

  • Saudi Arabian citizenship is mandatory.
  • Eligibility and willingness to work at customer premises in Saudi Arabia, adhering to all site access, security, and administrative procedures.
  • Compliance with customer confidentiality, data protection, and security requirements.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Candidates must possess the following technical skills:

  • Unix Systems: Advanced Linux/Unix experience (minimum 3 years hands-on usage) with strong knowledge of administration and troubleshooting commands (ps, netstat, rsync, netcat, systemctl, journalctl, ssh, scp, grep, awk, sed).
  • Scripting: Ability to read, understand, and maintain shell scripts. Proficiency in at least one scripting language for Linux task automation (Bash, Python, or Perl).
  • Networking: Good understanding of IPv4 networking concepts including subnetting, routing, and static route configuration.
  • Version Control: Experience with systems like Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
  • Automation Tools: Experience with tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Cloud & Microservices: Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably GCP) and microservices-based architectures.
  • DevOps Tools: Familiarity with tools like GitLab, Terraform, and Helm.
  • Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • SQL Language: Ability to write SQL queries, perform joins, and filter data.
  • Troubleshooting: Experience troubleshooting deployment and integration issues in customer or production-like environments.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with customer infrastructure, network, security, and operations teams to resolve technical dependencies.
  • Documentation: Ability to clearly document technical findings, workarounds, and deployment outcomes.

Additional Skills and Attributes

The following skills and attributes are also important for this role:

  • Optional Technical Skills: Understanding of Apache web servers, SSL certificate configuration, SOAP and other web services, NoSQL databases (preferably Cassandra), and troubleshooting web service connectivity.
  • Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken). Arabic language skills are strongly preferred.
  • Professional Attributes: Customer-oriented, strong communicator, quick learner, self-starter, team player, organized, analytical, and capable of managing conflicts and solving problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: At least 3-4 years of experience in systems administration, solution delivery, integration engineering, DevOps engineering, or software support.
  • Work Ethic: Willingness and ability to travel and work on customer premises as per project needs, comfortable working independently while maintaining regular communication.
