About the Role

Mandarin Oriental is seeking a Director of Engineering for its Al Faisaliah Riyadh property. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, requires 5-10 years of experience. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for the overall engineering operation and facility management, ensuring compliance with all relevant local codes, regulations, company policies, and the Safe, Sound & Sustainable by Mandarin Oriental manual.

Core Responsibilities

• Understand and communicate all corporate and hotel Policies & Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and Human Resources Policy to colleagues.
• Establish engineering guidelines, policies, and standard operating procedures to maintain high standards of quality and reliability within the hotel.
• Establish a monthly reporting system to monitor Key Performance Indicators, guest room maintenance, energy consumption, operational and energy expenses, project updates, and LQE activities.
• Prepare annual and Five-Year capital plans.
• Manage all CAPEX and POMEC projects in accordance with group policies and procedures.

Leadership and Operational Management

• Oversee the recruitment and selection of qualified technicians and engineers.
• Manage telecommunication system upgrades or enhancements.
• Assist in the annual maintenance of contingency systems that support IT&T equipment and systems.
• Monitor and prepare forecasts on the hotel's POMEC expenses.
• Prepare a summary and analysis of the annual POMEC budget, and prepare annual POMEC budgets.
• Ensure engineering colleagues' performance is monitored and individual career development programs are developed.
• Monitor and lead labor cost management.

Compliance and Professional Conduct

• Ensure all business activities and decisions comply with general law, and with all rules, regulations, and other requirements as per the MOHG Code of Conduct.
• Uphold Mandarin Oriental, Al Faisaliah Hotel Riyadh's zero tolerance on all forms of harassment or discrimination, including on the basis of gender, disability, physical or medical condition, race, colour, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, sexual orientation, marital status, or for any other reason.
• Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.
