About Atmaal and the GeAI Engineer Role

Atmaal is seeking a GeAI Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on designing, building, and maintaining robust AI orchestration pipelines. The successful candidate will play a critical role in automating data ingestion, model inference, and result delivery for generative AI solutions.

Role Responsibilities and Focus

The GeAI Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle of generative AI solutions, from initial design to production deployment and monitoring. This includes developing and optimizing AI orchestration pipelines, as well as engineering prompts for large language models using advanced techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and embedding strategies. A key aspect of this role involves ensuring responsible AI practices through rigorous model evaluation, guardrails, and compliance checks. The engineer will also lead incident response and root-cause analysis for AI-driven services, working closely with various teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Core Duties and Accountabilities

Manage the complete GenAI model lifecycle, including building, testing, versioning, and deployment, while maintaining reproducible pipelines.
Enforce technical standards by ensuring code adheres to style guides, security linting, and CI pipelines, and that all model artifacts contain comprehensive metadata for provenance, versioning, and explainability.
Supervise data preparation workflows, covering ingestion, cleaning, and labeling, and verify the completion of data quality checks prior to model training.
Coordinate and execute functional, performance, and bias testing scripts, and approve model sign-off packages for staging.
Provide production deployment support, triggering CI/CD releases for models, verifying successful rollouts (*, canary/blue-green deployments), and confirming the availability of rollback procedures.
Monitor model performance by maintaining real-time dashboards, reviewing daily/weekly drift reports, and initiating retraining processes when performance thresholds are exceeded.

Qualifications and Expertise

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of professional experience in AI engineering, machine learning operations, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end AI orchestration pipelines is essential. Proficiency in prompt engineering for large language models, including the application of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and embedding strategies, is required. The role also demands a strong understanding of responsible AI practices, model evaluation metrics, and compliance frameworks.

This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product owners, and platform engineers.
