About the Role

Egis is seeking a skilled GIS Specialist to join its Transportation Business Line in Riyadh. This full-time position supports transportation and mobility projects across the Middle East region, focusing on driving geospatial innovation and enabling data-driven decision-making. The role is integral to the successful delivery of complex transportation and infrastructure programs by leveraging advanced GIS capabilities and spatial analytics.

Role Context and Responsibilities

As a regional GIS specialist, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement geospatial solutions supporting planning, design, construction, operations, and asset management. Your work will involve creating high-quality geospatial products and insights that add value throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, maintaining, and managing geospatial databases, datasets, and mapping solutions for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Delivering advanced spatial analysis and geospatial intelligence for transportation planning, network studies, corridor assessments, and asset management.
• Designing and maintaining interactive GIS applications, dashboards, and web maps using ArcGIS technologies.
• Creating cartographic products, map layouts, and technical drawings for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Managing and publishing geospatial content via ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Integrating GIS workflows with BIM and digital engineering environments, including extracting and integrating data from Revit and Civil 3D.
• Supporting the development of digital twin and 3D geospatial solutions.
• Collaborating with engineers, planners, and project managers to develop geospatial solutions.
• Establishing and promoting GIS standards, data governance procedures, and best practices.
• Preparing technical documentation, methodologies, reports, and presentations.
• Providing technical support, training, and mentorship to project teams.
• Conducting quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of geospatial deliverables.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience delivering GIS solutions within transportation, infrastructure, urban development, or large-scale engineering environments is required. Extensive hands-on experience with Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise, is essential. Demonstrated expertise in spatial data management, geospatial analysis, and the development of GIS workflows is expected. Strong knowledge of cartographic principles and map production standards is necessary. Proven experience integrating GIS with engineering and BIM workflows, including working with Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D, is required. Experience managing and analyzing both 2D and 3D geospatial datasets is also important.

Essential Skills and Competencies

This role requires advanced experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise, coupled with strong cartographic and visualization skills. Proven experience managing enterprise geospatial databases and spatial data workflows is necessary. Knowledge of web GIS applications, dashboards, and geospatial data publishing is expected. Familiarity with transportation, infrastructure, mobility, or urban development projects is beneficial. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills are crucial. The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and support projects across multiple countries and cultures is also a key requirement. Proficiency in developing automated GIS processes using scripting and programming tools such as Python and SQL is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting major transportation, rail, highways, aviation, mobility, or smart city projects is preferred. Knowledge of GIS-BIM integration methodologies, digital twin environments, and common data environments (CDE) would be advantageous. Familiarity with remote sensing, LiDAR, reality capture, and other advanced geospatial data acquisition technologies is a plus. Experience working within cloud-based GIS ecosystems and enterprise digital platforms is also desirable. Understanding of international geospatial standards, data exchange formats, and interoperability frameworks is beneficial. Professional certifications in GIS, Esri technologies, BIM, or related digital engineering disciplines would be considered an advantage.
