About the Role

Alfanar is seeking an International Tax Section Manager to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves comprehensive management of overseas tax operations, including planning, development, execution, and monitoring of activities and related systems. The manager will be responsible for optimizing resources, ensuring cost efficiency, and delivering results in line with company quality standards, while proactively managing risks and opportunities to advance the department.

Core Tax Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns, manage tax filings, and ensure timely payments and reporting for subsidiaries across various jurisdictions.
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies, optimizing the group’s tax position through transfer pricing, tax credits, and incentives.
  • Oversee transfer pricing documentation and compliance, collaborating with external advisors on intercompany pricing strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential tax risks, supporting internal and external audits and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Manage cross-border tax compliance, including understanding double taxation treaties and withholding tax obligations in multi-jurisdictional environments.

Leadership and Operational Accountability

  • Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers to build a robust second line of management, while guiding low performers towards improvement or release.
  • Take full responsibility for operations, anticipating problems, making timely decisions, and delivering results within quality and cost parameters.
  • Translate corporate goals into actionable business plans, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions, providing periodic progress reports and controlling budgets.
  • Develop organizational structures, ensure updated job descriptions, and drive business process improvements through system development, policy creation, and automation.
  • Maintain Alfanar’s quality standards, adapt to new techniques and technologies, and ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Profound knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, including corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations across jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with internal stakeholders (finance, legal) and external advisors (tax consultants, auditors).
  • Strong analytical abilities to review tax data, identify discrepancies, ensure accurate reporting, and provide thorough analysis of tax implications.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance software, automation tools, and ERP systems, with a commitment to leveraging technology for efficient tax reporting and staying updated on emerging trends.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in international tax management.
