About the Role

IC İctas Construction, a global entity with over 50 years of experience in diverse domestic and international projects, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Laboratory Technician (Laborant). This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will support quality control and testing activities for a significant road and infrastructure project. The role requires a strong understanding of construction materials testing and laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with project specifications and international standards (AASHTO, ASTM, etc.).
• Conduct systematic on-site sampling of raw materials and fresh concrete/asphalt for quality control testing.
• Accurately record, calculate, and document all test data in standardized formats, ensuring laboratory logs are up-to-date and audit-ready.
• Maintain laboratory testing equipment and sensitive measuring instruments, including cleaning and assisting with periodic calibration.
• Immediately report any test results falling outside required specifications or tolerances to the QA/QC Manager.
• Properly label, store, and track the shelf-life of samples, such as concrete cylinders/cubes, for accurate curing and timely testing.
• Coordinate testing schedules with site engineers and batching plants to align with daily construction progress.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering strictly to site safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals or equipment.
• Assist in preparing daily and weekly quality reports to support project accountability and compliance certificates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
• Over 20 years of experience in quality control within construction and infrastructure projects.
• A minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in construction site laboratories, including material testing and laboratory supervision.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite for reporting and record-keeping.

• Ability to manage laboratory personnel, testing schedules, and reporting activities effectively.
• A detail-oriented and disciplined approach to ensuring test accuracy, compliance, and thorough documentation.
