About the Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor Role

This full-time position requires a dedicated professional to ensure a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and overseeing occupational health and safety protocols. The role involves a blend of proactive measures, investigative work, and documentation to maintain compliance and prevent incidents.

Key Responsibilities

The Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor will be responsible for a range of duties focused on maintaining high standards of workplace safety. This includes:

• Monitoring the application of occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and instructions within facilities.
• Conducting environmental measurements to assess workplace conditions.
• Investigating accidents and injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Developing and disseminating occupational safety and health instructions, procedures, and informational posters.
• Preparing and submitting comprehensive work reports.

Core Duties and Tasks

The day-to-day tasks of this role are critical to ensuring a safe operational environment. They encompass:

• Performing various site inspections related to occupational safety and health, including periodic and emergency checks.
• Recording inspection findings and comparing them against established standards.
• Preparing and maintaining environmental measurement equipment and devices.
• Measuring environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and vibration using appropriate instruments.
• Documenting all measurement results in official records.
• Following up with relevant authorities to address identified hazards.
• Preparing necessary materials for accident and injury investigations.
• Conducting accident and injury investigations and documenting the outcomes.
• Creating occupational safety and health instructions, safe work procedures, and evacuation plans.
• Educating workers on safety instructions and procedures.
• Compiling, documenting, and maintaining work reports.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess a minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety. A strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices is essential for success in this role.

Work Environment
