About the Role

BAE SYSTEMS is seeking a Project Manager - Capability to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and is central to defining, planning, managing, and delivering projects that meet both customer and business requirements. The role involves overseeing all aspects of project delivery, from design and construction to testing, commissioning, and handover, ensuring adherence to cost, time, and quality standards.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Project Manager will provide expert leadership to various functional areas, ensuring that the total capability delivered is fit for purpose. This includes fully defining project aspects to achieve customer requirements in line with business, commercial, and company policies. The role involves developing and maintaining project plans and budgets consistent with overall program needs, agreeing upon specific deadlines and milestones, and communicating them to all involved parties. A significant aspect of this position is operating as a Prime Contractor, managing interfaces between multiple sub-contractors, and navigating the complexities of potential In Country Industrial Participation. The Project Manager will also conduct post-project appraisals and facilitate the dissemination of "lessons learned" across business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, control, and monitor projects to ensure delivery within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Regularly review and report on project progress, intervening as necessary to resolve issues impacting delivery.
• Ensure project adherence to all policies and procedures, minimizing risk and maximizing opportunities.
• Manage relationships with major suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure contract delivery and effective issue resolution.
• Ensure the project team possesses required resources and capabilities, and that staff are led, developed, and motivated.
• Liaise with all relevant functions to build an integrated project team and achieve project objectives.
• Lead technical support for the solution delivery, managing teams in both the UK and KSA.
• Hold BAE Systems Saudi Arabia delegated Project Management Governance and ensure compliance with the BAE Operational Framework and PM functional processes, including LCM, Planning, Monitoring and Control, Risk and Opportunity Management, Performance Management (EVM), Life Cycle Management, Bid Status, and Phase and Contract Reviews.
• Undertake relevant training and development for the KSA Executive population.
• Engage at an executive level with customers and stakeholders to understand and exceed requirements.
• Oversee all project activities to ensure professional integrity and ethical business practices.
• Ensure project support capability insertion through In-Kingdom Industrial Participation.
• Develop and ensure the solution is acceptable to the Prime Contractor, UK MOD Authorities, Customer, and KSA industry.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of substantial project management experience in a relevant environment.
• Significant understanding of the BAE Systems Saudi Arabia business, or the ability to develop this quickly.
• Significant political and cultural awareness related to BAE SYSTEMS business.
• Expert networking and communication skills for senior-level engagement with governments, customers, suppliers, partners, and sub-contractors.
• Responsibility in all aspects of the Risk Management process.
• Well-rounded background in the BAE Systems Operational Framework.
• APMP Qualification or equivalent is required.
• An understanding of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) processes.
• A track record of successfully managing a number of major, complex, and sensitive projects.
• Expert level planning and scheduling skills, ensuring complex activities of interrelated project teams are controlled and linked into the overall business plan.
• Expert leadership, delegation, and team building skills for the effective people management of large and complex programs.
• High-level problem-solving and financial control skills.
• Substantial understanding of commercial, financial, and project leadership.
• Expertise in project review and control, including the use of Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
