About the Role

Saudi Services For Electro Mechanic Works Co. (SSEM) is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team. This full-time position requires a dedicated professional to ensure the implementation and enforcement of health and safety policies across project sites.

Role Overview

The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors. This involves proactive identification of risks, thorough inspections, and comprehensive reporting to uphold high safety standards throughout project operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site-specific health and safety policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
• Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports.
• Deliver safety training and awareness sessions to employees and workers.
• Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to all safety requirements.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery for safety compliance.
• Coordinate with project management and relevant authorities on all safety-related matters.
• Maintain and update emergency procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant educational background in occupational health and safety or a related field.
• Certification in health and safety management, such as a diploma or bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar Safety Officer role, preferably within the construction industry.
• Possession of HSE Certificates such as IOSH, OSHA, or NEBOSH.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of current health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with diverse teams.
• Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in preparing clear and comprehensive reports and documentation.

Preferred Experience

Experience working on Substation and OHTL (Overhead Transmission Line) projects is considered advantageous.

Work Location

The project location will vary based on project requirements and may be situated in any region across Saudi Arabia.
