About the Sales Team Leader - Industrial Refrigeration Role

Daikin Middle East & Africa, a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., is seeking a Sales Team Leader for Industrial Refrigeration to be based in Riyadh. This full-time position is responsible for driving sales and project conversion within the KSA market by delivering optimized refrigeration solutions. The role involves leading and supporting a sales team, alongside hands-on technical sales responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities

The Sales Team Leader will focus on application analysis, system selection, and the development of techno-commercial proposals tailored to customer requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a technical sales specialist for Industrial Refrigeration systems, translating customer needs into optimal engineering solutions.
  • Analyzing customer applications to recommend appropriate refrigeration systems based on cooling capacity, energy efficiency, load calculations, compliance, and lifecycle cost.
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations, system proposals, and solution demonstrations to consultants, contractors, and end-users.
  • Providing pre-sales engineering support, including product selection, system configuration, and technical clarifications.
  • Supporting post-sales activities by coordinating with service and execution teams to resolve technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identifying, developing, and tracking new refrigeration projects and business opportunities across KSA, converting leads into secured orders.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop competitive technical-commercial proposals, tenders, and cost estimates.
  • Maintaining accurate sales forecasts and updating opportunity pipelines in Salesforce/CRM.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, competitor solutions, and regulatory standards, providing feedback to product teams.
  • Promoting Daikin and affiliated refrigeration brands and turnkey solutions.
  • Providing technical guidance during solution development and customer engagements.
  • Monitoring team performance, pipeline health, and deal progression, supporting corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Industrial Refrigeration sales, preferably in large-scale or project-based environments.
  • Experience working with Industrial Refrigeration Products and Ammonia systems.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring junior sales engineers or team members is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of industrial refrigeration systems, applications, and solution-based selling.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals, system costing, and techno-commercial evaluations.
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships, influence decision-makers, and negotiate commercial terms.
  • Experience in key account management and achieving agreed KPIs and sales targets.
  • Proficiency in order management, CRM usage, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with operations, execution, and finance teams.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and reporting skills, with excellent time management and stakeholder coordination abilities.
