About the Role

Prolific is seeking fluent Arabic speakers with knowledge of Saudi Arabian dialects to participate in AI training projects. This contract role is based in Makkah, with tasks available in Jeddah and Makkah. The pay rate for this position is $20-26 per hour.

Role Overview

As an evaluator, you will help AI models better understand the nuances of the Arabic language, particularly Saudi Arabian dialects. This involves completing side-by-side evaluations of text and voice snippets. Your primary task will be to assess how naturally and authentically AI captures Arabic speech by listening to audio clips and rating their naturalness. This is a project that requires attention to detail to improve AI's comprehension of human language.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct side-by-side evaluations of text and voice snippets to assess quality and authenticity.
• Listen to AI-generated audio and rate its naturalness.
• Identify instances where AI tone or pronunciation feels unnatural or culturally mismatched.
• Review audio for contextual appropriateness, ensuring intonation aligns with cultural context.
• Provide feedback on the naturalness, tone, and authenticity of audio data.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Fluent Arabic: A strong command of natural, everyday Arabic.
• Saudi Dialect Knowledge: Familiarity with Arabic dialects common in Saudi Arabia.
• Linguistic Nuance: Ability to discern subtle differences in accent, tone, and vocal delivery.
• English Communication: Fluent English skills for understanding instructions and reporting.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness.
• Technical Setup: Access to a quiet environment and quality headphones or speakers.

Work Structure

This is a contract role. You must be prepared to complete paid tasks that typically require one hour of uninterrupted work, although many tasks are shorter. Researchers pay between $20-26 per hour for completed tasks.
