About the Spa Therapist Role

Luxury Collection is seeking a full-time Spa Therapist to provide exceptional massage and body treatments to guests. This role requires a professional dedicated to guest comfort and safety, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of spa techniques and modalities. The Spa Therapist will also be responsible for promoting and selling spa services and retail offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of massage services to guests, utilizing appropriate props and products.
  • Administer body treatments, including scrubs and wraps, and perform hydrotherapy.
  • Conduct pre-treatment assessments to understand guest needs and identify any contraindications, such as allergies, high blood pressure, or pregnancy.
  • Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Prepare and arrange the workstation and treatment rooms, including drapes.
  • Regularly check in with guests to ensure their comfort, safety, and security throughout the service.
  • Promote and sell spa and salon services, including related retail products.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, maintenance, and sterilization of all tools.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the workstation and treatment room throughout the shift, manage trash and linens, and secure supplies and equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to the daily time schedule for all appointments.
  • Handle any instances of inappropriate guest behavior by following established standard operating procedures, which may include stopping a treatment and informing a supervisor or manager.

Professional Standards and Development

  • Stay current with evolving techniques and modalities relevant to the field of spa therapy.
  • Maintain current skills and licensure as required by regional regulations.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to management, and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs with genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School program.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is required.
  • Possession of a valid State or Regional Massage License.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Capacity to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
