About the Role: Analyst Planning & Optimization

S-Chem is seeking an Analyst Planning & Optimization to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position provides essential analytical and operational support for the optimization of petrochemical and polymers feedstock streams, alongside planning and scheduling for the petrochemical product line.

Role Overview

The Analyst Planning & Optimization is responsible for preparing production planning inputs, developing comprehensive production schedules, and performing detailed mass balance analysis. This role is critical in contributing data and insights to support informed commercial and operational decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare short- to medium-term production plans that balance customer demand, plant capabilities, inventory levels, and maintenance constraints.
• Develop and issue weekly and monthly production schedules for the related products.
• Track and monitor the execution of production schedules, identify deviations, and report findings for appropriate corrective actions.
• Prepare scenario comparisons and "what if" cases to support planning reviews.
• Collect and validate data needed for feedstock optimization and mass balance models converting both petrochemical/hydrocarbons and polymers feedstock streams.
• Perform preliminary analysis and feedstock allocation scenarios, including swaps, alternative sourcing, and related aspects.
• Support mass balance updates by entering data and validating results.
• Assist in consolidating economics/margin figures for feedstock evaluation.
• Gather operational, supply, and demand data and transform it into dashboards, tables, and KPIs for planning decision support.
• Prepare regular reports on feedstock utilization, production plans, inventories, and capacity utilization, highlighting abnormalities or trends.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics/distribution, sales, and business development to gather required data and clarify assumptions used in the planning and feedstock modeling.
• Support planning and optimization meetings with required material and analysis.
• Participate in S&OP and ES&OP meetings to align production capabilities with commercial demand.
• Undertake accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
• Contribute to the processes of continuous improvement for the area assigned.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in planning, optimization, or a related analytical role within the petrochemical or polymers industry.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in mass balance and feedstock optimization.
• Proficiency in developing and managing production schedules and plans.
• Ability to collect, validate, and transform complex operational and commercial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Detail-oriented approach to tracking execution, identifying deviations, and reporting findings.
