Job Description
Role Overview: Construction Mechanical Piping Supervisor
Tecnimont is seeking a Construction Mechanical Piping Supervisor for a contract position on the Amiral Petrochemical project in Al Jubail, Eastern, KSA. This role involves reporting to the Construction Manager (or MSP when present) and directing Subcontractor activities specifically for the mechanical piping discipline. The primary goal is to ensure that all plant construction works are executed in strict adherence to erection schedules, project documents, assigned cost budgets, quality and safety procedures, and subcontract terms. The supervisor will lead and oversee all piping installation activities on this significant EPC project.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the Supplier’s material and technical documentation delivery schedule prior to work commencement, ensuring alignment with construction schedules and contractual commitments.
- Monitor adherence to the project schedule and initiate necessary actions to recover any potential delays.
- Verify that the Subcontractor's equipment and manpower are adequate, and that all works conform to design documents, safety regulations, and specified quality levels.
- Prepare non-conformity registers for each Subcontractor and coordinate the resolution of identified non-conformities.
- Detect and rectify design errors where possible, or request essential changes from the Site Engineer.
- Check and approve Subcontractors’ work progress status sheets.
- Manage vendor specialists involved in the project.
Project Coordination and Support
- Assist the Contract Engineer in defining new prices, preparing subcontract amendments, and analyzing/discussing claims.
- Cooperate with the project team for Constructability and feasibility studies (in Home Office, whenever possible).
- Collaborate with APPAL for technical tabulation of civil bidders’ proposals and clarification meetings.
- Work with the civil department to analyze and define Work Requests (WR) for inclusion in the Subcontractor's Scope of Work.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience and Essential Skills
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the construction of large Oil & Gas plants or EPC projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated team-oriented skills, self-motivation, and direction, with a strong focus on timely performance and problem resolution.
