About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a dedicated Procurement Engineer - Mechanical (Shutdown & Turnaround) to join our team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This full-time role is critical for managing and coordinating all procurement activities related to mechanical equipment and materials during essential shutdown and turnaround phases.

Role Purpose and Scope

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the timely and efficient procurement of mechanical items, upholding stringent company and Saudi Aramco standards. The Procurement Engineer will play a key role in supporting operational goals by collaborating closely with maintenance, engineering, and project teams to facilitate the smooth execution of shutdown and turnaround projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement plans for shutdown and turnaround activities.
  • Source and qualify suitable suppliers and vendors for mechanical equipment and materials.
  • Prepare essential procurement documentation, including Requests for Quotation (RFQs), purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Monitor procurement schedules to ensure the timely delivery of all required materials and services.
  • Coordinate effectively with project and maintenance teams to accurately understand material requirements and priorities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies and Saudi Aramco procurement standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and proactively resolve any procurement-related issues.
  • Support budgeting and cost control activities directly related to procurement operations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized procurement records and reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of procurement experience in mechanical disciplines, with a specific focus on shutdown and turnaround projects.
  • Saudi experience is preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Aramco procurement standards and procedures is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
