S-Chem is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join its team in Jubail, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence of our facilities in Al Jubail.

Role Overview

The Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining techniques and programs, applying specialized expertise to support and enhance the reliability of rotating equipment. This role is crucial for monitoring mechanical integrity, driving improvements, and ensuring the efficient operation of critical machinery within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and implement rotating equipment mechanical integrity initiatives, monitoring equipment to drive improvements and corrective actions.
  • Develop inspection procedures and establish routine monitoring programs for each piece of equipment.
  • Develop equipment maintenance strategies, repair/spares strategies, and influence equipment standards for rotating equipment.
  • Facilitate bad actor, downtime, and root cause analysis related to rotating equipment, confirming implementation and effectiveness of countermeasures developed.
  • Ensure that internal and external planned (PM order) and unplanned inspections are conducted.
  • Investigate applications of present and new techniques, including analytical and instrumentation methods, for detecting and diagnosing mechanical problems such as signature vibration analysis, monitoring of large rotating machinery, and analyzing reciprocating compressors.
  • Perform failure analysis on rotating equipment to determine root causes of failures, applying technical expertise to assess the essential cost of failures, estimate costs, and evaluate alternative solutions. Recommend corrective expenditures based on overall profitability.
  • Perform vibration analysis to evaluate the mechanical condition of rotating equipment and analyze vibration-related faults.
  • Lead the conducting of Turnaround inspections according to the job list and scope of work prepared before shutdowns.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades/modifications to equipment to increase reliability and reduce maintenance cost and operating issues.
  • Analyze predictive maintenance data and initiate follow-on corrective work.
  • Develop, review data, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Frame sound and economically viable repair vs. replacement recommendations.
  • Provide input into the development of rotating equipment reliability strategies.
  • Review Management of Change documentation relating to rotating equipment to ensure mechanical integrity considerations are properly addressed.
  • Perform calculations to determine the remaining life of rotating equipment.
  • Strictly follow established environmental, health, safety, and quality policies and procedures to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Undertake accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the processes of continuous improvement for the assigned area.
  • Perform any other relevant task as directed by the Superintendent Rotating Equipment Reliability.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating a strong background in rotating equipment engineering and reliability practices.
