RT Machine Operators

About the Role

HUDSON is seeking RT Machine Operators for a contract position in Al Jubail. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Linear Accelerator (Linac) radiographic systems to perform industrial radiographic testing (RT). The operator will ensure high-quality radiographic images, proper handling of records, and accurate inspection documentation, while supporting broader Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Quality Control (QC) activities. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Linear Accelerator (Linac) and associated radiographic testing equipment according to manufacturer manuals, approved procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare components, position films or digital detectors, and select appropriate exposure parameters to achieve required image quality.
• Perform industrial radiographic testing of welds, castings, forgings, and other components.
• Ensure radiation safety through proper area control, radiation monitoring, and compliance with the Radiation Protection Program (RPP).
• Conduct regular radiation surveys and equipment performance checks.
• Handle radiographic film processing, ensuring films are properly identified, labelled, stored, and protected.
• Maintain accurate exposure logs, film identification records, technique sheets, and inspection results.
• Perform radiographic film interpretation, evaluation, and reporting.
• Conduct routine equipment performance checks and preventive maintenance of Linac equipment and accessories.
• Support cross-functional NDT activities, including Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT), as needed.
• Ensure inspection techniques comply with applicable standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO, as well as customer specifications.

Radiation Safety and Compliance

The RT Machine Operator is responsible for strict adherence to radiation safety protocols. This includes performing regular radiation surveys, coordinating with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for dose records, and immediately reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns. Compliance with site safety rules and environmental protection policies is mandatory.

Equipment Maintenance and Quality Assurance

This role involves conducting routine performance checks and preventive maintenance on Linac equipment. The operator will also support internal and external audits, inspection reviews, and regulatory assessments, ensuring all activities align with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and relevant inspection requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in operating RT machines, specifically Linear Accelerator (Linac) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Physically fit for fieldwork and capable of working in confined spaces or elevated positions when required.
• Must be available for immediate mobilization.
