KBR is seeking a Safety Officer to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern Region, on a full-time basis.

Role Overview

The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting thorough safety inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the well-being and safety of all personnel engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities. This role is critical in maintaining a safe operational environment and ensuring compliance with all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of workers engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities.
• Examine safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools, facilitating the replacement of any items that do not meet established safety requirements.
• Observe work crews to identify and report any instances of laxity in safety precautions, such as the failure to use mandatory safety devices like goggles or rubber gloves.
• Assess the conditions of ditches and tunnels, recommending the appropriate use of braces to prevent cave-ins that could endanger workers.
• Investigate accidents to determine their root causes and develop effective preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Provide instruction to workers on the correct use of safety equipment and adherence to safe work methods.
• Ensure strict compliance with all company and regulatory safety procedures.
• Actively encourage the reporting of unsafe acts and conditions among all personnel.
• Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) procedures both prior to the commencement of work and throughout its duration.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance for candidates with a High School qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance for candidates holding a Diploma.

• Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs as they relate to safety protocols and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to be well-organized and proactive in managing safety responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills, essential for instructing workers and reporting observations.
• Proven leadership skills, particularly within large organizational structures.
• Maturity of judgment when operating under pressure and strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Strategic management skills to contribute to overall safety planning and execution.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Eastern Region. The role operates within Oil & Gas Facilities, requiring a constant focus on safety and compliance.
